About Drive Dash AI

Drive Dash AI is a marketing platform built only for driving schools — so owners can see how students find them and fix what's holding them back.

Built behind the wheel, not in a boardroom

Brad Bixler, founder of Drive Dash AI and owner of Shield Driving School

Twenty years ago, I opened Shield Driving School. Like every owner reading this, I learned the business one lesson, one student, and one nervous parent at a time.

For most of those years, I lived a double life. By day, I worked in education, where I became an educational technologist and helped lead the movement to bring AI and AI tools into the virtual high school classroom. I watched technology go from something teachers feared to something that gave them back hours of their week.

I've taught first-time drivers who gripped the wheel so hard their knuckles turned white. I've managed instructor schedules and built student schedules, often while changing diapers and raising three children. I've cleaned the bathrooms at the office. And I've stood in the parking lot celebrating with students who just passed their road test.

I've watched people cry tears of joy because learning to drive changed their lives. One of my proudest moments was watching a 78-year-old woman learn to drive after her husband passed away. She had never needed to drive before. Now she needed her independence, and she earned it, one lesson at a time.

That's why we do this work.

I never stopped asking one question: what could this do for driving schools?

Three years ago, I decided to find out. I stepped away from education to run my driving school full time, with a mission to bring AI and automation into our industry.

Last year, I launched DriverEd Consultants. I worked with schools running 80 cars and schools running one. I expected their problems to be different. They weren't. Every owner told me the same thing: we have no time for marketing. So we hand it to agencies and marketers who have never sold a behind-the-wheel package, never prepped a teen for a road test, and don't understand how parents choose a driving school.

So we built our own social media department, made by driving school people for driving schools. In the first 18 months, our content earned more than 90 million views across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. That proved something I had believed for years: when marketing speaks our language, it works.

It also showed me how broken the tools were. Owners were paying high fees for marketing software. Then every new feature turned out to be another tool, at another $80 to $100 per location, per month. The money our instructors earned in the car was flowing out the door to companies that didn't know our business.

That's why I built Drive Dash AI.

I wanted one simple platform that brings together the power of today's leading AI engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Perplexity. It needed to work for an owner who has never heard the words SEO, GEO, site audit, or reputation management, and who doesn't have time to learn them. You approve the work. The platform does the rest.

Drive Dash AI exists to give control back to driving school owners. Keep more of what you earn from every lesson. Grow your school on your own terms. And build a business that gives your instructors and staff a better living.

I've been in your seat for 20 years. This is the tool I wish I'd had on day one.

Background in driver education

20 years in driver education

A teacher first

Before I was a business owner, I was a teacher. And honestly, I've never stopped being one.

My 20 years in education took me just about everywhere a teacher can go. I started in autism support, where I learned that every student learns differently and that patience is a skill you practice every single day. From there, I taught in classrooms in Harrisburg and Baltimore City. I've taught everything from Driver Education to International Law. I served as Chair of the Business Department at NAF Academy, and later became the Educational Technologist for the City of Baltimore's virtual high school, where I helped lead the effort to bring AI and new technology into the classroom.

Where the driving school began

My driving school was born in a classroom. Early in my teaching career, I was teaching Driver Education and saw a real need in Harrisburg. There were plenty of driving schools around, but too many of them treated lessons like an afterthought. Back in the day, it wasn't unusual for an instructor to run personal errands while a teenager sat behind the wheel.

I knew we could do better. So I built a school focused on one thing: developing confident, safe drivers. Every lesson had a purpose, because that's how teachers think.

The passion never stopped

Teaching taught me that the best educators never stop learning. So I took everything I learned in education, from instructional design to educational technology, and used it to rebuild my driving school from the inside out. We embraced automation and AI, not to replace the human side of teaching, but to free up more time for it.

It worked. And once I saw what technology could do for my own school, I couldn't keep it to myself.

Now, I teach schools

Today, I bring that same passion to driving schools of all sizes. Alongside my amazing staff, I built a social media platform and a set of online marketing tools designed to help driving schools take their next step. Our goal is simple: help owners take back control of their business from software companies that charge too much and understand too little.

I spent 20 years helping students grow. Now I get to help schools grow, too.
